“I am astonished that the Chamber of Commerce would tolerate that kind of accusation and language in a question,” Anderson had proclaimed during the debate Friday. Moderator Lee Steinhauer stated, regarding the City Commission “blatantly colluding to fight the Henderson project.” This did not phase Sprinkel, a former City Commissiner, but Anderson, also a former City Commissioner, took strong offense. The question was stated to have have been submitted by someone in the audience and that question was selected by the Chamber to ask.
Afterward when the cameras where down Anderson was said to have stormed over to Chamber President and CEO Gardner Eckbert and had a colorful exchange of words. The Chamber released a statement saying. He “grabbed the microphone from its holder and demanded that she ‘never do that again!’ The candidate’s anger and proximity prompted Ms. Gardner Eckbert to ask if she was being threatened and prompted a Chamber employee to run up to the podium to insert herself between the two. The exchange was described as inappropriate and disturbing by some who witnessed it.”
They are requesting a public apology from the candidate.
So one must wonder how bad was the wording of this question. You can see the entire video on the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Fabook Page
